weird wine notes
What is it with “wine notes” ? i get so confused……what if i just want my red wine to taste of red wine ?
Last night in a New York restaurant i was given a choice of 3 wines by the glass….the descriptions were : charcuterie, leather and earth , plums, peaches and wood and last : black pepper, tobacco and raspberry .
ummmmmmmmm………charcuterie tasting wine ? really ? what about wine tasting like wine…..
I have never liked reading wine notes , but now every restaurant in America seems to enjoy torturing you with them. I just hope this trend goes no further than anglo saxon Europe , and in the meantime I am going to start compiling a list of Worst Wine Notes You Ever Read On A Wine List.
